MQDC and Ratchaprasong Square Trade Association Present “Beautiful Bangkok @Magnolias Ratchadamri Boulevard”: A Spectacular 60-Floor Light Show and New Year Countdown Landmark

[Bangkok] Magnolia Quality Development Corporation Limited (MQDC), one of Thailand’s leading property developers, has collaborated with the Ratchaprasong Square Trade Association (RSTA) to stage the grand opening of the festive spectacular “Beautiful Bangkok @Magnolias Ratchadamri Boulevard”.

This stunning light show puts thrilling artistic projections on the 60-story Magnolias Ratchadamri Boulevard (MRB) building under the theme“The Symphony of Happiness”. Featuring 3D projection mapping, multi-color laser, and lighting techniques, it presents the imaginative and colorful creations of seven internationally acclaimed Thai artists to delight Thais and tourists during Christmas and New Year. Top singers “Lydia Sarunrat”, “Be Perapat” and “Gubgib” join the VIP round of the show to further entertain the audience. Spectators can enjoy the festive spectacular for free till 31 December 2018.

The grand opening ceremony is held at the Magnolia Ballroom on the 10th floor of Waldorf Astoria Bangkok hotel on Ratchadamri Road in the honorable presence of Mr. Itthiphol Kunplome, vice minister for Tourism and Sports. Mr. Raj Tanta-Nanta, chairman of MQDC’s executive committee, RSTA representative Ms. Korakot Srivikorn, and MDQC CEO Mr. Visit Malaisirirat led other executives in welcoming honourable guests, including celebrities such as Ms. Supee Pongpanich, Ms. Suree Rattanahirunya, Ms. Araya Kanjanapongkul, Mr. Akarat Vanarat, Ms. Yuwared Sarutanont, Ms. Monlada Pongpanit, Ms. Pattamon Adireksarn, Ms. Pauline Lamsam, Ms. Lina Leenutaphong, Ms. Preeyamon Tanawisut, ML. Atichat Chatchai, ML. Athadis Diskul, Ms. Jarospan Svasti Na Ayudhya, Mr. Anirut na Songkhla, Ms. Natprapa Choonhavan, Ms. Supamas and Ms. Jidapa Laksanawisit,and Ms. Anchana Thongyai na Ayudthaya. A huge number of Thai and foreign tourists also turned up at the venue to watch the spectacular show.

Mr. Visit Malaisirirat, CEO of Magnolia Quality Development Corporation Limited (MQDC), said during the grand opening ceremony that: “Beautiful Bangkok @Magnolias Ratchadamri Boulevard, the stunning light show held at the super-luxury Magnolias Ratchadamri Boulevard, home to high-end residences and the Waldorf Astoria Bangkok hotel, has embraced ‘The Symphony of Happiness’ theme to underline that Bangkok’s beauty lies not with its places or objects, but the smiling happiness of its people and the positive energy that have been endlessly shared here. Bangkok is beautiful because it fills its residents and visitors with happiness. For this festive spectacular, the stunning façade of Magnolias Ratchadamri Boulevard serves as the screen for 3D Projections that cleverly use projection mapping and multi-color laser lighting techniques. Our show presents Bangkok’s beauty to the whole world and gifts our audience smiles and happiness. Thais, in particular, will definitely be proud and happy. The concept of our show is designed in support of the government’s policy to promote Thai tourism further and confirm Bangkok as the world’s most visited city.”

He added: “Beautiful Bangkok @Magnolias Ratchadamri Boulevard has returned to the Ratchaprasong area for the second year in a row now with colorful grandeur. The light show on our 60-story building reflects the amazing blend of creativity and technology, as artistic creations by seven prominent Thai artists are projected. Also, we would like to thank Thais who have contributed to our event by offering their smiling pictures for projections. For the first time in Thailand, the true smiles of Thais will be projected on our building every day during our event. Over 250 pictures from the public will light up our festive spectacular, which is designed to amaze and delight Thais and tourists alike during the ongoing festive season. Our grand show will be staged every night from today till 31 December.”

Ms. Korakot Srivikorn, speaking on behalf of the Ratchaprasong Square Trade Association, said: “Magnolias Ratchadamri Boulevard (MRB), which is under MQDC, has completed the magnificent scenery of the Ratchaprasong-Ratchadamri district. Also, MRB complements the district’s goal to become a genuine landmark and the city of the future through its status as a center of the retail market, hospitality, luxury residences, and also MICE [meetings, incentives, conferences, exhibitions] in the heart of the capital. With MRB’s contributions, Ratchaprasong area is getting stronger and well ready to serve as a world-class economic hub. Now that the ‘Beautiful Bangkok @Magnolias Ratchadamri Boulevard’ is held, we trust that spectators will be delighted and proud of Thainess. We expect this festive spectacular to attract a huge audience during Christmas and New Year celebrations in support of Ratchaprasong’s goal to become an ultimate countdown landmark and Bangkok’s goal to become a global countdown destination.”

This festive spectacular truly amazes Thais and foreigners alike.”

According to Mr. Itthiphol, Bangkok is not only the Thai capital but also the face of Thailand. Despite its huge population of over 8 million people and density of skyscrapers, Bangkok retains its impressive identity, lively perspectives, and happy character. When all things combine, Bangkok is truly a charming city like no others. A Euro Monitor International 2018 survey ranks Bangkok as No2 in the world’s 100 best destinations. Agoda has also found Bangkok as Asia’s most popular city in terms of hotel bookings in 2018.

The grand opening ceremony then reaches its peak with the projection of vibrant, imaginative, and artistic creations by seven leading Thai artists. Delighting the audience, the show presents the happiness of Bangkok’s residents and visitors from the perspectives of Pichet Rujivararat (Tikkywow), whose "Bangkok Eyes!” tells Bangkok’s beautiful stories to foreigners; Janewit Limthamrong (P7), whose "Colorful Bangkok" is inspired by the Thai capital’s colorful and fun character; Akkaraphon Monthathong (Bonus TMC), whose “Balanced Happiness” represents the blend of technology and nature; Teerayut Puchpen (TRK), whose "Payak Siam" (Siamese Tiger) exudes contemporary Thainess through a “Tiger” character; Thana Saengsorn (Pai Lactobacillus), whose “Siamese Dream" takes Bangkok people’s beauty, happiness, and dreams as inspirations; Keep Your Eyes On, whose "Neo Bangkok" showcases Bangkok nightlife and various venues; and Danaiphat Lersputtitrakan (Mue Bon), whose “Bangkokians" features his street-art signature and an exceptional melody.

Following the stunning light show, the event continues with musical performances by the celebrated singer “Lydia Sarunrat” and pop sensation “Be Perapat”. Paul Sirisant, a celeb deejay, then heats up the event with his music selection until the grand opening ceremony concludes with great memories.

“Beautiful Bangkok @Magnolias Ratchadamri Boulevard” will be staged every night till 31 December 2018 based on the following schedule. On 18 December, 7 rounds will begin at7.20pm/7.40pm/8pm/8.20pm/8.40pm/9pm, and 9.20pm. On 19-30December, 7 rounds will start at7pm/7.20pm/7.40pm/8pm/8.20pm/8.40pm, and 9pm.   1. A note of caution, block paving should only be very occasionally be pressure cleaned as this can undermine the sand bed that the block paving is laid on causing it to sink. Paving Amarillo TX
