Mercedes-Benz continues to lead the luxury car market – launches five Mercedes-AMG high-performance cars simultaneously, being the leader in Thai performance market

[Bangkok] Mercedes-Benz Thailand creates a new sensation to the luxury car industry in Thailand once again with the launches of five new high-performance sports cars under the Mercedes-AMG brand. Appeasing to lovers of speed and powerful luxury cars, the new lineup is led by Mercedes-AMG GT 53 4MATIC+ 4-Door Coupé and Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S 4MATIC+ 4-Door Coupé launched for the first time in Southeast Asia, along with the Mercedes-AMG G 63, and the locally-assembled models including Mercedes-AMG C 43 4MATIC, and Mercedes-AMG E 53 4MATIC+. The new luxury sports models are fully equipped with innovation and cutting-edge technology under a unique design package - ready to elevate customer’s driving experience to the next level. In addition to the products, various activities, such as the AMG Private Lounge - an exclusive community club for drivers of Mercedes-AMG cars - and the first AMG Driving Academy in Southeast Asia are also ready to roll out. In addition to this outstanding launch, our parent company--Daimler AG--had confidently chose Thailand as a venue for Southeast Asian premiere of Mercedes-AMG GT 53 4MATIC+ 4-Door Coupé and Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S 4MATIC+ 4-Door Coupé.

“The release of our 4-door coupé Mercedes-AMG reaffirms production capabilities of our production facility and Mercedes-AMG product development center at Sindelfingen in Germany. Our 4-door coupés were made by our skilled and experienced engineers and we always retain the ‘One Man, One Engine’ production method. Each engine built into a Mercedes-AMG vehicle is manually assembled from scratch by only one certified engineer and the assigned specialist will put his/her signature on the metal plate attached on top of engine cover to certify his/her craftmanship and our unyielding production standards. By 2020, Daimler will invest about 1.5 billion Euros in the Mercedes-Benz plant Sindelfingen as part of the safeguarding of the future. The plant will be modernized comprehensively and put on a sustainable foundation. In addition, another 600 million Euros will be invested in research and development at the Sindelfingen location. This means our total investments in the location of about 2.1 billion Euros,” added Mr. Folger.

Mr. Frank Steinacher, Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Mercedes-Benz (Thailand) Limited, said “In addition to the launch of the Mercedes-AMG GT 53 4MATIC+ 4-Door Coupé and Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S 4MATIC+ 4-Door Coupé for the first time today, the company also unveils three highlight sports models which bagged excellent feedback from international markets. The new lineup is led by the Mercedes-AMG G 63,considered a leader among the off-road luxury cars enhanced with high performance engines, making it suitable for driving in all weather and road conditions. The launches also include two outstanding locally-produced four-door sports luxury cars – Mercedes-AMG C 43 4MATIC and Mercedes-AMG E 53 4MATIC+. The new cars have been modified in terms of appearance, performance, energy consumption rate and the AMG driving experience. Additional innovation includes the latest EQ Boost system, as well as the Mercedes me connect service equipped in both Mercedes-AMG GT 53 4MATIC+ 4-Door Coupé and the Mercedes-AMG E 53 4MATIC+.”

“Since the official introduction of Mercedes-AMG in Thailand in 2017, we have launched four new models including Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 4MATIC Coupé, Mercedes-AMG GLA 45 4MATIC, Mercedes-AMG GT R and Mercedes-AMG GT C Roadster. Our cars have received great feedback and trust from Thai customers. In 2018, we continued to penetrate the high-performance car market by offering six more sports luxury cars, namely Mercedes-AMG C 43 4MATIC Coupé LOCAL PRODUCTION, Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 4MATIC Coupé LOCAL PRODUCTION, Mercedes-AMG E 63 S 4MATIC+, Mercedes-AMG C 43 4MATIC Coupé (Facelift) LOCAL PRODUCTION, CLS 53 4MATIC+ and Mercedes-AMG GT S. These launches have reaped our growth to 309% compared to sales in 2017. This year, the company continues to offer customers with high-performance cars for daily use led by two models; the locally assembled Mercedes-AMG CLS 53 4MATIC+ and the imported Mercedes-AMG E 53 4MATIC+ Coupé, which have contributed to our 79% sales growth in the first quarter of 2019, compared to the same period last year.”
